Making a 6 Month Plan (DS MA)

Writing the Plan

First, copy the template to a new tab in your client sheet and label it "MA 6-mo Plan"

In the date column, put a string of consecutive dates.

In the month column, put "first", "second", etc.

Month Name will be the name of the corresponding months

Campaign Name is the broad name for the campaign you're proposing

Why is our reasoning for why we are proposing that focus

How is our outline of what we will create or do to accomplish that focus

Mapping the sheet

Follow the instructions for mapping your sheet by following the instructions for "Syncing Google Sheets" and "Syncing Connections at the Account Level" in this wiki:

Ninja Cat Setup (MA-Specific)

Generating the Report

You start by creating a Report in Ninja Cat very similarly to how you create a monthly report. Under the account, select the ‘+’ sign above the REPORTS table.

The settings for this specific report are the following:

  • Template:  6 Month MA Plan

  • Schedule: (doesn’t matter, so leave as default)

  • No date Overrides

  • File Name: [Account] 6 Month MA Plan

    • IMPORTANT: please make sure you rename this template so that it will be easier to find and refer to in the future!

  • Do  not publish to dashboard

  • Do Not Email

  • Email Recipients: if you are going to be sending this to clients directly from Ninja Cat (the marketingreports@dealerspike.com email)  leave blank. If you want to send this to a client directly from you, the rep, put in your email address.

Save the changes. This will bring you back to the Account page.

Updating the Report

You will now need to follow the instructions in "Editing the Report" section below. You will only need to update the titles and images to make sure everything is consistent.

Editing the Report

The report will now show up in the REPORTS table on the Account page. Click on the little hamburger menu on the right hand side to view the options.

You’ll need to run the report first. Once it’s done running - which generates it - click on the hamburger menu again. There should now be an ADD NOTES option. Select this to  be taken to a Report Edit view.

From here, how you edit the report will depend on what needs to be done for the client. But here is a quick breakdown of the types of things you can do:

Reordering Slides

If you need to change the order of the slides based on the campaign, you can do that very easily. Hover over the up-and-down arrow on the left hand sidebar and you should see the cursor change to indicate moving. Then just click and drag until you have it where you need it.

Editing Text

Clicking on any text will give you the chance to edit what it says, and double clicking will give you the option of changing the size, style, color, etc., as needed.

You can also move any text. Click on it once and drag it wherever you wan to place it. Weirdly, if you have double clicked and see the Font Editor (bold, italics, font size, type, etc), you’ll need to click out of the text box and then back into it once in order to move it from there.

Copy/Pasting

Right click on a section of text or an image to generate the drop down menu to Copy. To paste, you’ll need to move the background image to expose the blank template background - white with gray grid lines - and right click again to paste.

You can do this on the same slide or copy from one and paste on another if you need to move a widget to an entirely different slide.

Duplicating

Similar to copying, just right click on any text or image to duplicate it. You can then edit, copy, paste, etc as you would any other.

Saving

Once you are done with your edits, you will want to save your report. To do this, click on the little ‘SAVE’ disk up top. This will save your 6 Month Plan exactly how you want it, and since we are in the Add Notes section, it won’t affect the main template.

IMPORTANT: do not select “Save & Send”. This will immediately send it to your email contact. If you are concerned about making this mistake accidentally, a safe guard is to always put your own email in the email recipients report settings.
