Navigate to the "Marketing Activities" section in Marketo

Scroll to the workspace for the client you're setting up segmentation lists for

Open the "Operational" program folder and create a new folder named "Segmentation Programs"

Right-click on the folder and select "New Program"

Name the program with the dealer initials and the overarching segmentation

Each dealer will get the following segmentation programs at a minimum:

• Vehicle Type
• Manufacturer Interest
• Price Range
• Vehicle Condition
• Purchase Status

Creating the Segmentation Lists

Right-click on the segmentation program and select "New Smart Campaign"

Each segmentation category will need it's own smart campaign.

For this example, we will start with "Motorcycle"

Program Smart List

The Smart List is the criteria used to determine who is part of the list.

IF YOU ARE MIGRATING LISTS FROM SHARPSPRING SEE THE LAST HEADER AT THE BOTTOM

Use the triggers and filters from the right-side of the screen to build your list criteria.

NOTE: If you are looking at the form-fill variables like vehicle type or manufacturer from a submitted lead, be sure to include the "Data Value Change" trigger for that variable before setting the filters.

If you have multiple triggers, it's probably best to set "Use ANY Filters" in the top right-hand corner. Otherwise you miss users who haven't completed every single trigger listed.

Flow

The whole purpose of these lists is to sort users into the correct segmentation so the flow will be pretty simple.

Drag the "Change Data Value" to the Flow

Use the following chart to figure out which attribute to select:

Activate the Campaign

Click to the "Schedule" tab and click "Activate" to turn on that segmentation campaign

The Light Bulb next to the campaign should turn yellow
