Component is displaying in an unexpected area

If a website feature is displaying unexpectedly on a page (or in the wrong place on a page), proceed through the following steps to verify that the page and component has been properly enabled and configured.

Please note: Only "Admin" users can access components. If you need "Admin" access, please talk to an existing "Admin" user on your account, or contact your ARI representaive.

  • Component is showing on a page where it doesn't belong
    1. Go to the component, click the settings gear, and review the page rules setting.
      1. If there is a SINGLE page rule of "Only Available on" and it's assigned to the wrong page, assign it to the correct page, save and publish changes.
      2. If there is a SINGLE page rule of "Only Available on" and the component shouldn't be on the website at all, return to the Component Library and deactivate the component.
      3. If there are TWO OR MORE page rules, review the rules to determine if any are incorrect. If an incorrect rule is found, remove or fix it, save and publish changes.
  • Component is showing in an unexpected area of a web page
    1. In the ARI CMS, go to Admin > Account > Components and look for the component in the Active Components tab.
      1. Verify that the section rule is set to render the component in the correct section (Header, Main Content, Footer). If the setting isn't correct, fix it, save and publish changes.
    2. In the ARI CMS, go to Admin > Account > Rows
      1. Select the page layout that applies to your component.
        1. The Home page layout will be named Index_Theme (or a similar name) and page layout for all other web pages will typically be Default_Theme (or a similar name)
      2. Go to the section that corresponds to the section rule set on the component (typically Header, Main Content, Footer) and look for the component
      3. If the component is not in a row in the expected section, add a row, then add the component. Save and publish changes.
