Sitemap Generation, Check and Submit (DS Only)

Purpose

 

Procedure

Inputs:

 

  • Open the Admin Tool by adding “/admin” at the end of the dealer’s website, go to “DS Admin” and select the “Sitemap Generator” option (you have to be connected to the VPN in order to access the Admin panel).

E.g. https://www.1stchoicetrailers.com/admin

  • Once there, click the “Build Sitemap” button

  • Open Notepad ++ Tool and locate the FTP folder for the site, expand it, open the “content” folder, and open the sitemap.xml file.

  • Verify that the URL extension added is “HTTP”

If the URL is in the https version simply erase the “S”.

  • Open GSC, search for the client's property and select the “Sitemaps” option on the right side of the page.

  • Once there type sitemap.xml and SUBMIT

  • Repeat the process but now with content/sitemap.xml
