Products by csv

We will cover the Export option first since it will provide you with the existing “Product Mapping File”. This file will provide you with all of the Product Groups in your Catalog along with the associated Category. It will also show you which Product Groups are not currently mapped or listed on your webstore.

To begin with, browse to File Center from the main navigation bar.

Step 1 - Export Product Mapping File

On the left-hand menu under Webstore Categories and Products, click "Client: Export Product Mapping". Then click “Submit”

This will initiate a job that will provide you with all of the existing product groups in your account along with the webstore category that they are mapped to. Allow up to one hour for this to complete.

Step 2 - Retrieve Export

Check back in File Center where you will see the job that you had just run. Jobs will move between statuses of Pending > Processing > Complete. Once you see your job has completed just click into the blue hyperlink and it will download the export file to your computer.

Step 3 - Make Changes

The csv file that was exported will contain seven (7) columns:

Catalog.name

This is the catalog that the product group exists in. Likely to be either PRIVATE or AFTERMARKET. *It is important to always keep the catalogs capitalized when working within this file job.

ProductGroup.id

The internal code that is unique to this product. The system generates this on it’s own.

ProductGroup.name

The name of the product group. Keep in mind that each product group can contain several individual products.

ManufacturerGroup.name

Brand or Manufacturer name

WebstoreCategory.path

The current category path that the product group is mapped to. When making changes you will edit this column to reflect the desired category path. You will notice on the export that some product groups are unmapped; you may want to address this by adding a category path.

Additionally, if you want to “unmap” or remove a product from your webstore you will leave this column blank.

WebstoreProduct.featured

A value of 1 indicates that you want the product featured. Featured products appear more frequently in search results on your webstore. Leave the field blank if you do not want it featured.

WebstoreProduct.price_hidden

A value of 1 indicates that you want the product's price to be hidden from someone viewing the category pages from the webstore. It requires them to click into the product to view the pricing.

Recommendations and Key Points

Scroll down to the very bottom of the csv export and you will find all of the Private Catalog products.

When you go to import your changes, only the following columns are required:

Catalog.name ProductGroup.id WebstoreCategory.path

Unmap/delete products from your webstore by leaving the webstore category path blank.

Step 4 - Import Product Mapping File

On the left-hand menu under Webstore Categories and Products, click "Client: Import Product Mapping".

Now, you can take the export file and delete the 3rd and 4th columns ProductGroup.name andManufacturerGroup.name and then upload the file right here. Or you can also copy/paste your work from the export file and place it onto the import template which can be downloaded here.

Step 5 - Monitor Job Processing

You will want to monitor the job that you just ran in File Center. The job will be in a Pending or Processing status until the system has completed it. These jobs typically take 30-60 minutes depending on the size of the csv file.

Once finished you will see the job Completed or Complete w/ Warnings. Click on the job and you will have access to a Processing Report. Open the report and the success or failure of each line item will be reported.
