Sitesmith Image Library User Guide

Image Uploader Tool

Goal:

To populate the image library with a wide variety of images, ensuring that each section within Sitesmith offers ample options for clients during onboarding calls.

By offering a large selection of images, we can ask clients what type of image they’re looking for, search relevant keywords, and narrow down the options. The client can then choose their preferred image in real time.

This approach will create a seamless and enjoyable experience for the client, allowing them to select images on the spot without the need to leave the session and add images later, which would otherwise disrupt the goal of Sitesmith.

Our images should include:

  • Images that have to do with the geographical location of where the dealer is located

  • Custom created background images with styling for dealers that want something more than a scenic background

  • Pattern backgrounds

  • Real banners that dealers could select to have on their website (NOT PLACEHOLDERS)

  • Type Icons - Real brand type icons, realistic icons, and silhouette icons, sales icons

  • Images that include a lot more RVs in them with all different types of RVs in the image so dealers that only carry towable or motorhomes have a good selection of RVs images for what type they carry.

  • Better selection of services images and custom images for some of the opportunities we have to add custom highlighted services.

What do I have the ability to do within the image library?

For now, we are asking that you only add or remove images that are within a specific folder.

Currently the structure of the image library folders are designed a specific way. The way we name and have the folders nested is important to how Sitesmith talks to the image library. If you make any additions/changes to the folder structure it will break the connection with Sitesmith. In future iterations we will provide more flexibility. If we want to make updates/additions to the image library, we can do that, but some work in Sitesmith will need to be done in addition to any changes made in the image library.

How do the image folders line up with the Sitesmith sections?

How do I upload images?

You will want to navigate to the folder where you want to add the images. (Note that some of the folders have other folders within them so you want to make sure you are under the proper folder where you want to add your images.)

Upload Images

Once you have selected the proper folder, you should see something like this.

You will then click the image-20241107-190959.png Upload button - this will open a folder on your computer. You will need to navigation to the folder on your computer where you saved the images.

You can select one image at a time or you can select a group of images to upload at once.

Tag Images

You will navigate to the left side bar and click on the folder where you added the images. You will find the image you added, and click on the image. You should arrive at a screen that looks like this.

Once you see this page, you will want to add the tags that will help you search for the tag when in Sitesmith Image Selector.

Important Note About Tagging

We want to add 3 to 5 tags per image. With single or double words, you want to describe what’s in the image. The more tags you add, the better filter capabilities the user in Sitesmith will have when looking for an image. The faster we can get to the list of images with the client on the call the better experience it will be for them.

In the example below, you can see a drop down of tags but its also a type ahead so as you start typing in a name it will show all available tag names. A user also has the ability to filter by multiple tags, once they select one tag, they can add another to continue to filter down the list of images.

What kind of tags should I use?

Tags that describe multiple elements within the image

  • What type of RV in the image?

  • What type of region or part of the country?

  • What physical elements of the location does it have?

  • What people in the image?

  • What activities in the image?
