Listing Private/Custom Catalog by csv Import

To begin with, browse to the File Center using the main navigation bar. Near the bottom of the left-hand navigation bar, under Webstore Categories and Products", click "Client: Import Product Mapping”

Step 1 - Download Template

Download and open the Compatible File Template which is in the blue hyperlink.

For this template and any others in the E-Commerce platform, make sure that you review the developer notes so that you can ensure that your file meets the required specifications.

Step 2 - Populate Template With Your Data

This template has five (5) columns, some of which are optional.  Below we offer an explanation of what each column header represents.

Catalog.name (required)

The name of the catalog. For this segment, we are using PRIVATE (yes, all caps)

ProductGroup.id (required)

The only way to get the ProductGroup.id that is assigned to your private catalog data is to export the existing Product Mapping File from the File Center. This export will provide the ProductGroup.id for both the aftermarket catalog products and any private catalog products. The private catalog stuff will be at the bottom of the file. It will include some helpful information such as ManufacturerGroup.name and ProductGroup.name.

Hot Tip: We recommend working off of the export file to start. Enter your category paths while you have the product name and manufacturer handy. Once it looks good you can delete the extra columns and just paste the required columns over to the import file.

WebstoreCategory.path

The category that you wish to list to. This category path must already exist in your application. Examples of category paths:

Parts > Casual Wear > Headwear > Hats

Parts > Chemical > Lubrication

WebstoreProduct.featured

Do you want this product featured on the home page? If so, put a 1

WebstoreProduct.price_hidden

Do you want the price of this product hidden on the category view page? If so, put a 1

Here is an example of a product mapping import

Step 3 - Upload Your Data

Back to the user interface under File Center. When you click "Client: Import Product Mapping" you will see "Choose File" next to File Upload.  Click this button to locate the file on your computer.  Double click your file and it will be ready to go.

Enter your email address if you want to be notified when the job is complete.  (optional)

Click Submit

Step 4 - Monitor Job Processing

You will want to monitor the Import that you just ran in File Center.  The job will be in a Pending or Processing status until the software has completed it.  These jobs typically take 30-60 minutes depending on the size of the CSV file.

Once finished you will see the job Completed or Complete w/ Warnings. Click on the job and you will have access to a Processing Report.  Open the report and the success or failure of each line item will be reported.
