Why am I being required to integrate with a payment gateway (or PayPal) in order to accept credit cards online?

Credit card companies do not allow retailers to capture and store electronic credit card data without specific safeguards in place.  Payment gateways are specifically engineered to securely handle credit card transactions so that your business is exempt from these rules.  Without a payment gateway, your business may be exposed to a data breach that would not only adversely affect your customers, but threaten your ability to continue to accept credit cards as a payment method.

What are the available checkout options for my ARI website?

You can see the available options by going to Payment Gateway Integrations

3

Why can't customers checkout on my website?

ARI has implemented security upgrades to better protect dealers and their customers from credit card fraud.  We have sent several email notifications to dealers in the weeks prior to making these changes.

The minimum requirement for accepting credit cards payments for ecommerce orders is to integrate your website with one of the payment gateways options offered by ARI AND/OR integrate your website with PayPal Express.

You can see the available options by going to Payment Gateway Integrations

Please note that a payment gateway integration can take 5-10 business days to activate once a setup form to the payment gateway partner has been submitted.

4

Why can’t I add Credit Card options under Configuration > Payment Methods?

In order to add/remove credit cards logos on the cart page, your website must be integrated with a payment gateway.

5

What is a payment gateway?

A payment gateway is an ecommerce application service provider service that authorizes credit card payments for e-businesses, online retailers, bricks and clicks, or traditional brick and mortar.  It’s the equivalent of a physical point of sale terminal located in most retail outlets.

Which payment gateways integrate with my website?

ARI has partnered with the following payment gateway providers, all of which integrate directly with your website.

  • SecureNet (Worldpay): Set Up Form  - PLEASE NOTE: This option CANNOT be integrated when purchased through a reseller other than ARI
  • ChargeItPro: See James Hill

Please note that a payment gateway integration can take 5-10 business days to activate once a setup form to the payment gateway partner has been submitted.

7

Am I required to use one of the ARI-approved payment gateway options in order to sell products on my website?

No.  You may elect to integrate your PayPal Business Account with your ARI website.  This integration is referred to as PayPal Express.  Once enabled, your customers can buy products off of your website and submit payment through a PayPal account or through a credit/debit card.

You may also elect to enable the Pay-in-Store and/or Purchase Order checkout systems, which allow you to capture ecommerce orders without also capturing customer credit/debit card information.

If I want to accept credit card payments on web orders, am I required to use either PayPal Express or one of the three ARI-approved payment gateways?

Can I integrate my existing SecureNet (Worldpay) account that I acquired through a 3rd party reseller?

Unfortunately, no. ARI has partnered with SecureNet (Worldpay) to provide our customers with this payment integration exclusively for accounts that are facilitated through ARI. If you have a SecureNet account that was brokered through a 3rd party, you have to cancel that service and re-apply for services through ARI and SecureNet.
