Overview
Objective
This product requirement documentation is more in reference to the data consumption within iCommand Center. For more details about AEM itself, you will want to reach out to the marketing team.
Marketing Highlights: Our Automated Email Marketing is a hands-free service that boosts sales opportunities through value-driven marketing based on each lead’s unique interests. As their interests evolve, so will the messages they receive – without you needing to lift a finger! Generate a variety of marketing emails (Featured Inventory, Retargeting, Service Reminder, Buy Back, etc.). Engage your entire contact list, or target specific audiences, with relevant newsletter content. We provide you with a full report of each email campaign’s performance metrics and lead generation.
Product Documentation For Consuming Data:
Within iCommand Center we are able to consume the data (results) from those email campaigns so that clients have the ability to see who is receiving those emails and how many emails get delivered, opened, and clicked by their customers. This will allow our clients to see which email campaigns are working best for them. Along with seeing the data for emails that were delivered, opened, and clicked, it will also engage the web tracking feature that will help our clients see the RV shopping journey of their customers.
If dealers are subscribed to the sales and service transaction data service this data will also enhance the AEM product. If the dealer is not subscribed to receive sales and service data imported from their DMS to their iCC account, the AEM team does have the ability to get the sales data separately from the dealer, but the dealer does have to send it to the AEM team. See more about the sales and service transaction data within the Sale and Service Product.
How Does it Work
The consumption of the data for AEM events is done through an API between the ignite platform and the PSM AEM system. The AEM team sends only email events for Delivered, Opened, and Clicked for us to consume as a contact activity. Delivered are the emails that were delivered to an email address successfully, Opened means receiver of the email opened the email that was delivered to them, and clicked means that the receiver clicked a link within the email, this could mean any link whether it links to the dealers website, a 3rd party such as Facebook, or even the unsubscribed button is considered a click.
Before consuming the event the Ignite system first does a check to see if we have a mtaching contact in the dealers command center. We use the email address as the uique id for the contact, if the Ignite system finds a matching email address already in the system, it will add the AEM events as activities for that contact. If the system does not find a matching email address, it creates a new contact in the system, fills in as much details as it has for that contact, and then adds the contact activities for the AEM events. There will typically be a lot of additional contacts added into the dealer command center as currently only contacts that have filled out a form on the dealers website are added. The AEM team has a list builder that includes people that may have not been on the dealers website before so we will receive those new contacts so that we can display the AEM events as data for the dealer to view.
Each event is its own activity within the contact activtiy detail screen. Besides the event it also displays which email campaign and the subject of the email so dealers can see exactly which email a contact received, opened, and clicked into to help them see which emails are working best for them.
