Tools for Character Limits

As you may have previously learned, in order to maintain the current best SEO practices, there are character limits to the content we write. Please refer to these tools in order to adhere to the character limits we have in place.:

For Metadata:

  • How to figure out the character limits to the content we write for the title tag and meta description:

    • Spotibo

      • This is a tool to help you figure out the character length of title tags and meta descriptions. Title tags are roughly supposed to be 60-70 characters while meta descriptions need to be under around 160 characters. This ensures we have enough space in the title tag and meta description to make sufficient use of keywords and keyword variants.

For FeaturedBanner Header:

  • How to figure out the character limits to the content we write for the featuredbanner sectionheader section (top-of-the-page content):

    • Portent

      • Utilizing the Meta Description field, paste your content here to check out your exact character count. FeaturedBanner Header content should be below around 320-350 characters overall.
