Information Verification
The first and most important step of check-ins is to verify the information we have in the knowledge graph is still accurate and as complete as we can make it.
Compare Information - You will need to open up each location associated with a client and check the information in the knowledge graph against your main source of client information, normally the website.
Fill Out Missing Information - You will also want to look for opportunities to fill in information gaps when possible such as social media photos, amenities, services, brands, or anything that is missing.
Managing User Suggestions
Many listings allow users to make suggestions about the information on the listing. However, sometimes the information they provide is incorrect, not complete, and even malicious. As part of the ongoing management process, Yext provides an easy way to monitor, approve, and reject user suggestions. These are also time sensitive since they will auto-apply if left untouched for too long.
It is important to check the User Suggestions feed on a daily basis. This will also help to keep the list down and keep it from getting overwhelming.
To approve, reject, or reassign Suggestions:
Click Knowledge Graph in the navigation bar and click Suggestions.
Click on the Review button next to the desired Suggestion.
Take one of the following actions:
Approve
Click Approve to accept the Suggestion. Doing so will update the field in the Knowledge Graph and push the change to any endpoints you’re powering with Yext.
Note: If there are multiple suggestions on the same field, approving a suggestion will automatically reject the other existing suggestions on that field. To approve the suggestion, but preserve the other suggestions on that field, follow the steps to Approve Only below.
Approve Only
Click the drop-down button next to the Approve button, and select Approve Only to approve the suggestion and preserve any other suggestions that have also been made to this field.
Reject
Click Reject to reject the Suggestion. A dialog box appears. To include feedback, select one of the reasons provided or select the custom message option. Then click Reject.
Documentation
During the course of the monthly optimization, you will want to make notes about changes made if any, as well as, any other action taken on a location-by-location basis. You will want to complete the below note in the customer card in Trello as a new comment each quarter.
