Setup/Enable

Meyer’s RV Superstore was the first client to get the BoatTrader feed setup, you can refer to that account as an example setup. We will need to determine the lots we should include based off of the locations BoatTrader has setup in their account.

For example: Meyer’s RV Superstore - BoatTrader has two location accounts NY and PA, so we need to determine which lots within our system fit best within the accounts that BoatTrader has so we send the inventory to the correct location for BoatTrader.

Instructions (Also see User Interaction and Design Section)

  1. Dealer needs to send us their BoatTrader rep information.

  2. We reach out to the BoatTrader rep and ask them to setup the FTP credentials for each location they have an account for.

  3. Add an Export Feed > Select that BoatTrader parent feed

  4. Name the description so we know what export feed it is and which BoatTrader location

  5. Add in which lot locations to include in the file

  6. Setup the transport with the FTP credentials

    1. FTP Host will always be: sftp.boatsgroup.com

    2. Username and password will come from the BoatTrader account manager.

Terminate/Disable

Instructions

  1. If a dealer wants to temperately pause the feed then change the feed active to False

  2. If the dealer no longer wants us to send inventory and they do not want to tune it back on later, then delete the feed setup.

  3. If either 1. or 2. is selected, the SKU needs to be removed from billing to ensure we stop billing for that feed.

Product Support

  • If the dealer says there are certain stock numbers that are not displaying on the BoatTrader website, it is most likely that one of the required fields does not have data in the field. Since BoatTrader requires it, and the dealer does not have any data in the field, there is nothing we can do about it.

    • Example:

      • No data in the length field, BoatTrader will not accept no data so they will not display the unit.

      • No price in either of the price fields, BoatTrader will not accept no data so they will not display the unit.
