1. Content (QA)

Content QA refers to the process of correcting and improving the pagefooters, blog articles, and deliverables from the Content Team. On this page you'll find how to prioritize Content QA work and the requirements for each type of content.

Content QA Priority

The established Content QA priority should be followed at all times, but especially during times of heavy workload, being understaffed, or other extenuating circumstances (COVID-19), the QA Specialists' priorities are:

  1. High Priority (any Trello card with this label)
  2. Backlog (Previous Month) [Any QA assignments in the previous month's QA column]
  3. Current Month (any QA assignments in the current month's QA column)

The Content QA Priorities are not determined by the type of content, but rather the status label or any backlog from a previous month.

Pagefooter Content QA

QA Specialist

When performing QA for pagefooter pieces produced by the Content Team, the QA Specialist will:

  • Navigate to DigMS Content Board on Trello and:
    • Scan the QA columns for any High Priority cards
    • Begin with any backlogged QA from the previous month
    • Begin with the current month QA Column
  • Open dealers' Trello card and click on the provided link to the completed content assignment
  • Review the linked content with the following criteria:
    • Ensure the appropriate pieces of content have been included for the clients' package (Gold or Platinum)
    • Check that the dealers' target location(s) have been included
      • The Content Writer doesn't have to incorporate every location included on the card, but must include the dealers' primary target area
    • Check that the identified primary keyword focus has been incorporated appropriately
    • Check that the Pagefooter is appropriate for the dealers' geographic area, that the language matches the type of inventory being highlighted, and that the content is appropriate for the dealership
    • Click through a few related pages and audit existing pagefooter content for potential keyword cannibalization
    • Check for correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation
    • Check that the included H2 and H3s are unique, different than the H1 at the top of the page
    • Add the appropriate manufacturer and inventory trademarks if the content writer has not
  • Make changes as appropriate or as time permits, but will kick back pagefooter content to the Content Writer when any of the above are incomplete or incorrectIy
  • Once the pagefooter QA is complete, the QA Specialist will leave a new comment on the card, indicating the month of completion for the content, and confirming the Trello card is ready to move forward
  • They will also apply the appropriate QA label(s)
    • If there are corrections to be made they will leave a new comment, tagging the Content Writer, and detail the corrections needed
    • Then they will move the Trello card back to that writers' In Progress column on either the ARI Content Board or DigMS Content Board as appropriate
  • Once all corrections have been made and/or the Trello card is ready to move forward, the QA specialist will:
    • For Dealer Spike:
      • Apply the appropriate QA labels
      • Move the Trello card to the appropriate column depending on the combination of content types
        • If there is a Blog Article on the card, in addition to the Pagefooter, the QA Specialist will move the card into the Juniper Ready to Post column
        • Once Juniper has posted the Blog Article, they will move the card into the PageFooters for Reps to Post column
        • If there is only a Pagefooter, the QA Specialist will move the card into the PageFooters for Reps to Post column
        • If either the Pagefooter or Blog Article require dealer approval before posting, the card will moved into the Awaiting Dealer Approval column
    • For ARI, on the ARI Content Board on Trello:

Content Writer

  • Once their content is complete, the Content Writer adds a link to their completed piece to the dealers' Trello card on the either the ARI Content Board or DigMS Content Board, as is appropriate
  • Once the link has been commented onto the card, the Content Writer places the Trello card into the appropriate months' QA Column
  • If the QA Specialist kicks back the card for any reason, the Content Writer will make the required changes and place the card back in the appropriate months' QA Column
    • It should be noted, however, this is rarely necessary
