If The URL Inspection will show whether the page URL is the correct canonical URL, the URL Inspection information should look something like this:

You can see that the Page Indexing information states that an alternate page has the canonical tag, meaning has been crawled and is on Google or not:

If you find that a page is not on Google and the reason under Page Indexing says “Alternate page with proper canonical tag” like in the screenshot above, the problem might be that you have optimized a non-canonical page (this mostly applies to ARI inventory pages). This means that content was posted and internal linking was set up for the wrong page URL. At this point you would have to edit the content and internal linking to go to the correct canonical page, which you can find by expanding the page indexing section, as shown below:

Before a an ARI inventory page can be indexed, you must ensure that content is being posted to the canonical URL and not an alternative page.
