Remove Third Party Script

Remove Third Party Script

Follow these steps to remove a third party script from a page.

Read the task to determine what script needs to be removed. You may need to ask the dealer to be more specific if there are other similar scripts on the page. Some more complex scripts may have uninstallation instructions provided from the dealer or third-party script developers.

Find the script on the page, typically in the head or footer of the domain node or individual page. Comment it out by adding a <!-- to the left and a --> to the right of the script. (There may be situations where it is appropriate to delete the script – for example, if the structure of it makes it difficult or impossible to comment out, or if the dealer has a LOT of third party codes that are causing problems with load time, but if possible, we should preserve this script in case a dealer wants to reactivate it later.)

Save and publish the page or domain node.
