Fluency: Creating a New Budget

To create a new budget in Fluency:

  1. Navigate to the Budgets tab and click the green plus sign on the right side of the page to create a new budget.

  2. Enter a budget name at the top of the page.

  3. Select a pacing strategy.
    1. "Even" is the easiest and most common strategy.
  4. Check the boxes for:
    1. "Pause Campaigns When Exhausted"
    2. Notify When Paused
  5. Click "Save" at the top right.
  6. Once the Budget has been created, navigate back to the "Budgets" page.
  7. Click on the amount in the "Budget" column to change the amount.
  8. Check that the budget is applied to the correct campaigns.

    1. If the budget says 0/1 or 0/2 this means that the budget does not have any ACTIVE campaigns applied. One or more campaigns on the budget are paused.

    2. Double click on a budget and click the “campaigns” tab to see which campaigns are on the selected budget.

      1. If campaigns are active on the budget it should show 1/1 or 2/2 under campaigns on the “budgets” tab.

  9. Turn the "Prorate" option off, unless the client wants to prorate their budget for the month (this will be infrequent).
  10. Repeat steps 1-9 for any additional budgets you'd like to create. Save the changes and check that the applied budget amount matches the actual budget amount.
    1. If they match, you're done!
    2. If they don't match, go to the "Budgets" tab and click on the budget amount. There should be an option in green to adjust the budget a certain amount to balance the applied and actual account budget.
      1. Ex: If the actual budget is $100 but the applied budget amounts are $95, there will be an option to increase a budget by $5 to make them balanced.
