TDA Frequently Asked Questions


What is the management fee for every TDA client?

Each TDA client will spend half of their total adspend in the Simpli.fi platform each month. This includes the management fee for Dealer Spike and the markup for Simpli.fi. If a client signs up for TDA at $1,000 a month, the budget in Simpli.fi will be $500 a month. 


Can we co-op for TDA?

Yes, since Targeted Digital Advertising are just normal display ads and/or dynamic remarketing they can be co-oped. We are still figuring out a process for creating co-op reports.


How are we charged?

Unlike an SEM campaign, TDA campaigns are charged on an impression basis. A $1,000 budget will guarantee a client 125,000 impressions each month. 


Can a client put their whole budget towards the geofence targeting tactic alone?

Yes but this is not recommended. Only using the geofencing tactic limits the amount of users we can target. Doing this would only allow the audience to be as big as the amount of foot traffic that the target zones are receiving. If the competitor and lifestyle target zones have a limited amount of foot traffic then we will only be able to show our ads to so many. Using the other targeting methods in conjunction to geofencing is the best way to optimize our spend.


What is the difference between a click-thru conversion and a view-thru conversion?

A click-thru conversion means that a user saw the ad, clicked on it and then went to the site and filled out a form submission or they went to the site and then later visited the conversion zone (client's dealership). A view-thru conversion means that a user saw the ad, did NOT click on it but then later visited the client's site and filled out a form submission or later visited the conversion zone. 


What is the average CTR for TDA campaigns?

The average CTR for TDA campaigns is .12%.


Who is charged if the campaign receives a higher number of impressions than the guaranteed amount?

The client and Dealer Spike both will not get charged extra if the campaign receives a higher number of impressions than what was promised. If the client has a $1,000 budget and is guaranteed 125,000, this is simply an estimation. The campaigns will most likely bring in a higher amount of impressions, which will not cost extra.


How many sets of display ads can I run at once?

As many as you want! Keep in mind the budget for each set will be limited each time a new set is added.


How many target zones are recommended?

Each campaign should have AT LEAST 15 target zones but we are not limited to a maximum number of locations that can be used. Although we can have as many as we want, we want to make sure that each target zone is relevant to the audience we are trying to target so that we do not waste impressions. 


What type of conversions can we track for TDA?

Every form submission on the client's website plus store visits. We can NOT yet track calls that are made after users click on the ad.
