How to Setup a Client in SharpSpring
Resources: https://help.sharpspring.com/hc/en-us/sections/115000750331-Setting-Up-SharpSpring
1. From the Dealer Spike account, go to settings-->"manage clients" and select "Add Client" from the drop down arrow.
2. Fill out the necessary boxes
Full Name: Dealership Name
Email: Your Email (not the client's)
Company Name: Dealership Name
Website: Their domain
Phone: Their phone number
Address: Fill in their address*
Select Create New Client
*If they have multiple locations, do their main location. Can always update later if they want it different
3. Give Gabriel Reyes and Ozmar Verduzco permissions to access the client by following the instructions here and then send a message to Ozmar on the Juniper team requesting form integration for your client.
4. Restrict their AdWords Access. Dealer Spike agency account --> Settings --> Client Dropdown --> Edit Adwords
5. Adjust services and allowances. Change Litmus and Shutterstock from 100 to 0 and select "Charge agency account on file" ---> SAVE
6. Set up Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager by following the instructions here.
7. Install the SharpSpring Tracking code
Switch to manage the sub-account. Settings --> Sites. Click on the website you just set-up. Copy the script from the track code tab.
7.1 Paste it in the clients FTP stdHeaderEnd.inc file. To do this, go to notepad++ and choose "live" from the FTP. Then select vhosts.live.v3 and start typing your clients' domain to search for your client. From this point, expand the "includes" folder and you'll see "stdHeaderEnd.inc". Copy and paste the tracking code right before the closing </head> tag.
7.2 SAVE the file. BEFORE YOU CLOSE IT, head to the homepage of your site and CTRL+F5 to refresh and ensure the site still works. If it does, great! If it does not, head back to the StdHeaderEnd file and CTRL+Z until you have un-done any changes made. Save the file again and refresh the site to ensure it's back up and running. Grab a manager or pod lead to help troubleshoot any issues.
7.5. Enable MA login link
While still in FTP, navigate to your client's config.asp file. Look for the rest of the SAT_ENABLE variables and add "SAT_ENABLE_MARKETING_AUTOMATION=True" to the bottom of the list. Hit the tab key until "=True" is even with the rest of the list.
7.5.1. Navigate to the admin panel of your site to check that the "Marketing Automation" link is present.
8. Jump into "Company Email Settings" from the settings menu. Change the utm_source= from "sharpspring" to "ds_marketing_automation".
9. Next we're going to enable the granular unsubscribe feature. Follow the instructions on setting up Granular Unsubscribe here. Next, jump into the "Global Merge Variables" and add the client's information.
10. Then jump into the "DKIM & Sending Domains" and verify their domain by putting a fake address at their domain. For example shaneistotallyawesome@domain.com. It doesn't matter what it is as long as the domain is the client's domain. This is a workaround of sending an email to the client. Once the domain is verified, click on "Get my CNAME settings".
11. Add the em, sg1, and sg2 to thist google sheet;
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qSt8-mGeeA-JgieFV0Faf3UxIGAuw99Zp2WnQttkVKM/edit#gid=0
12. Once it's added to the google spreadsheet, send an email to emailsupport@dealerspike.com and ask them to authenticate DKIM and SPF Records for the client. Subject line can be something like "Dealer Spike MA Client Set-up". They will send a confirmation email once it's completed. From this point forward we can send newsletters from the account.
13. Last, go in and create a simple follow-up email. The client will use this as a smart mail template to follow up individually with hot leads. Go into Email Templates--> Simple Templates --> Choose the "Plain Text" version and click the plus button and name it "Follow-up". Select All Emails unsubscribe and check both boxes. Click "Add Email".
Congratulations! You've just setup a client in Sharp Spring!
To complete the client setup, follow the instructions here for activating LeadTrack on the admin panel.
