Shopping Products - Exporting & Importing Price Files

Users who have shopping catalogs enabled can export and import price files, for the purpose of managing product pricing in bulk. This can only be done on a per catalog basis.

To manage pricing via import/export, navigate to Products > Product Manager > Import/Export Pricing in the CMS menu bar.

Exporting a Price File

  1. Click Download Pricing

  2. In the drop down menu that displays, select the catalog that you wish to export and click Download Pricing CSV.

  3. Once the file has been downloaded, open it in MS Excel or another spreadsheet program.

  4. The file will have the following headings and columns.
    1. Part Number
    2. Price
    3. Item Name
    4. Catalog Title

  5. Only the dollar values in the Price column should be edited. Any other edits made to other columns will either be ignored or will cause the import to fail.

  6. Edit the prices that you wish to update, making sure to only enter numeric values.

  7. One you're done editing, save the file to your computer as a CSV document.

Importing a Price File

  1. Click Import Pricing

  2. Under .CSV File, click Browse. You'll be prompted to browse your computer for your CSV price file.

  3. Under Select catalog to upload, choose the corresponding catalog name from the drop down menu.

  4. If your file contains headers, check the corresponding box. This tells the system whether to skip the first line in your file or not.

  5. Click the Import CSV File button.

  6. Once the file has been imported, a preview screen will display. Verify that the column headings correspond to the data in the columns. If they don't, use the column drop down menus to select the proper heading. If the Item Name and Catalog Title columns are not already mapped to Do Not Include, map them as such.

  7. The preview will show the first ten rows of the import. If the prices and column headings are correct, click Save File.

  8. In the upper right header, click on your name and then click Publish Changes. You can verify that the price changes have taken effect by navigating to corresponding products on your website, or by reviewing those same products in Product Manager.
